PYSA - Project profile

Motivation

Good nursing documentation is an essential tool for needs-based care. However, with existing systems, caregivers can only poorly document care on a continuous basis. Subsequent entering on a PC is time-consuming and error-prone. PYSA aims to change this with an Artificial Intelligence-supported and offline-capable voice assistant for smartphones.

Objectives and procedures

With PYSA, caregivers can speak in documentation freely and interactively on their smartphones. Based on these voice inputs an Artificial Intelligence assistant generates structured documentation entries, which are transferred to established inventory systems via standardized interfaces. This relieves caregivers, increases documentation quality, and leaves more time for care.

With the start of the project, voize speech Artificial Intelligence will be introduced in several care facilities. Interactive Artificial Intelligence models will be developed to understand the care context. Questions asked by voice input can also be answered based on the care data. Feedback from users is iteratively integrated into the system. An effectiveness study will evaluate the success of the system.

Innovations and perspectives

The system uses self-learning Artificial Intelligence models specially optimized for nursing that run offline on smartphones. In this way, even care facilities without wifi coverage can benefit from PYSA and the use of innovative technology can be perceived as supportive and facilitating. PYSA can be used for inpatient and outpatient care as well as in hospitals in the future.
